Cultivar Notes - 'Kaga-nishiki'
Clump forming sedge with slender, elegant leaves with a border of gold. The Japanese name translates to 'Gold Fountains'. Evergreen arching leaves are in dense bundles.
Genus Notes - Carex
Carexes are Sedges, not Grasses, but for the gardener, the distinction is moot. They vary widely in size, habit, and foliage color. Many are prized for their architectural quality. All tolerate shade, which makes them especially useful. Sedges tend to grow more like warm season grasses.
