Cultivar Notes - 'Terra Cotta'
'Terra Cotta' has the delightful ability to change its flower color gradually from soft orange tones to pale yellow. Its finely divided foliage is gray-green, the perfect complement to the warm shades of the blooms.
Genus Notes - Achillea
This genus commemorates Achilles, the brave hero of the Trojan War who was virtually invulnerable--except for his heel-- according to Greek mythology. As a youth, Achilles learned of the healing powers of the plants that would come to bear his name. Used from antiquity through the Civil War, this plant has been used to stanch wounds.

Commonly known as Yarrow, Achillea has also been referred to as Soldiers' Woundwort, Carpenter Grass, and Sneezewort. Yarrows are valued today for their outstanding performance in the garden and in vases. They are long-blooming, drought tolerant, and virtually pest- and disease-free. Delicate, fern-like foliage with flat terminal flower heads. Flowers are long-lasting and excellent for cutting. Plants are drought tolerant and thrive in poor, dry soils. Good for summer color in the mid-border area.
