Cultivar Notes - 'Bowles Golden'
This sedge has bright gold foliage with thin green margins and is taller than most other varieties. It is an excellent choice as a highlight plant for a shade or water garden. 'Bowles Golden' is a moisture loving grass that will grow in shallow water.
Genus Notes - Carex
Carexes are Sedges, not Grasses, but for the gardener, the distinction is moot. They vary widely in size, habit, and foliage color. Many are prized for their architectural quality. All tolerate shade, which makes them especially useful. Sedges tend to grow more like warm season grasses.
