Zone: 4 to 9
Full Sun to Part Shade
Blooms mid-summer to early autumn
Cultivar Notes - 'Gardenview Scarlet'
Vibrant scarlet red flowers top the stout, square stems of this monarda from midsummer to early fall. It has demonstrated a high resistance to mildew.
Genus Notes - Monarda
Bees love Bee Balm, it's true, but so do hummingbirds. In the moist soil they prefer, plants spread quickly by underground stems to form thickets of tall square stems, lined with fragrant foliage and topped with colorful mid- to late-summer blooms. Monarda has mint-scented foliage and unusual colorful flowers that are surrounded by equally colorful bracts. Deadhead for rebloom.
