Genus Notes - Viola
The genus Viola includes some of the most familiar and best loved of garden plants - Violets, Violas, and Pansies, which provide cheerful splashes of color over a long season.
Violas have a distinct pattern in the way they bloom. They have a semi-trailing habit and are very versatile and adaptive, making them a great addition to a hanging basket or patio pot. They will continue to flower through the winter in mild climates and will pick up where they left off once the snow melts off the plants. They flower earlier and longer than other fall plants, even in low light.
Series Notes - Penny™
The Penny™ Viola is a popular landscape series that overwinter well thanks to a vigorous root system. They have a compact and uniform habit and display excellent heat tolerance as well as numerous blooms on each plant.
