|Blooms early summer to mid-summer|
Cultivar Notes - 'Joystick Red'
Bright green cushions of foliage produce huge masses of blooms over a very long period. Best used in rock gardens, as edging or for cutting.
Genus Notes - Armeria
Armerias are showy plants that present their flowers in dense, globe-shaped heads above clumps of grasslike leaves. They are all the more valuable because they are adaptable, growing and flowering both in heavy clay and poor sandy soil. Small, attractive mounds of tufted evergreen, grass-like leaves, very floriferous in spring and early summer. Plants are salt tolerant and are often grown along the coastline. Excellent for use as edging or in rock gardens.
