Tips for Efficient Printing
Before proceeding:
  • To print more columns on a single page, print the report in Landscape mode. To do this, change your printer's 'Orientation' to Landscape in your browser's Printer Settings dialog box.
  • Hide unneeded columns (to reduce print output width) by unchecking column names in the 'View Preferences' box at the bottom of this screen. If this screen is currently in the 'Plant Images Only' view, you must first click the 'Display In List Format' checkbox before you can hide the columns you do not want to print. Your print output will match whatever you are viewing here.

2. Jack Frost
Click to display
A sight to behold! The leaves of ‘Jack Frost’ are intricately detailed with a crackle-like finish. Though the leaves are dark green, they have a heavily frosted overlay which allows only the green veining to show through. From mid to late spring, baby blue, forget-me-not type blossoms are held in clusters several inches above the shimmering foliage. The effect is breathtaking.

3. Jack of Diamonds
Click to display
This shade perennial can best be described as a giant version of the classic ‘Jack Frost’-with a twist. The huge 9-10" leaves overlap dramatically at the base giving it a shape similar to the snail delicacy escargot. Overall, the foliage is circular from a distance. The leaves have a heavy silver overlay with vivid wide, dark green veining pattern. From mid to late spring, baby blue, forget-me-not type blossoms are held in clusters above the foliage.

6. Silver Heart
Click to display
A superb introduction, forming a clump of very thick, heart-shaped leaves that are silver with green edging and veining. Sprays of deep blue Forget-me-not flowers appear in spring. This is a choice collector’s plant, but an easy-to-grow perennial that performs well in all but the driest of shady conditions. Excellent for the woodland garden. Provided there is sufficient moisture, plants can tolerate full sun; as the leaves are so thick, little or no scorching occurs. Bred by Spitsbergen-Willemsen of the Netherlands.

7. Sterling Silver
Click to display
If you are searching for a new foliage plant for shade that looks like it is on steroids (but isn't) try this new silver-leafed variety. ‘Sterling Silver’ is an improvement from ‘Looking Glass’ with the same stunning silver color and heart-shaped foliage, but with larger leaves (7-8" wide) and larger habit, better leaf quality, and increased heat tolerance. In early spring, multitudes of tiny blue, forget-me-not flowers appear above the foliage.
11C-N10" Bl 10"-14"20"-24"3-8

8. Variegata
Click to display
