Tips for Efficient Printing
Before proceeding:
  • To print more columns on a single page, print the report in Landscape mode. To do this, change your printer's 'Orientation' to Landscape in your browser's Printer Settings dialog box.
  • Hide unneeded columns (to reduce print output width) by unchecking column names in the 'View Preferences' box at the bottom of this screen. If this screen is currently in the 'Plant Images Only' view, you must first click the 'Display In List Format' checkbox before you can hide the columns you do not want to print. Your print output will match whatever you are viewing here.

Fountain Grass (Dwarf Purple) Pennisetum setaceum
1. Red Riding Hood
A dwarf form of 'Rubrum', this rich burgundy- colored fountain grass does wonders for any container garden. 'Red Riding Hood' adds height without outgrowing its welcome. Wonderful for smaller borders. Pest and disease-free. Upright arching. 4C-N,12C-S Click to display 'Red Riding Hood' tag image 18"-30" 12" 5-9 PW .65 Quart
Fountain Grass (Purple)
2. Rubrum
Gracefully arching, wine-purple foliage topped with burgundy, soft bottlebrush plumes up to 1' long appear in midsummer. Enjoy its winter interest too-the plumes and the leaves will turn a subtle straw color after the first hard freeze. 4C-N,12C-S Click to display 'Rubrum' tag image 30"-36" 18"-24" 9 1 Gallon White
Fountain Grass (Variegated Red)
3. Fireworks
The first-ever variegated Purple Fountain Grass! This striking cultivar was discovered and selected from a batch of P. ‘Rubrum’. The new leaves are longitudinally striped with white, green, and burgundy, lending a candy cane-like appearance to the folia 4C-N,12C-S Click to display 'Fireworks' tag image 24"-36" 24" 9-11 1 Gallon White
Fountain Grass (Variegated)
4. Sky Rocket
Green leaves with white striped margins form a beautiful vase-like clump topped with smoky pink, arching plumes that turn cream as they age. Since the plumes are sterile, the plant blooms from midsummer all the way into mid-fall.

A terrific companion to the temperennial grass Pennisetum s. ‘Fireworks’ , this green and white sport is a strong grower that exhibits stable variegation all season long.

This tender grass is perfect for adding height and structure to combination container plantings. Like ‘Fireworks’, it should be grown as an annual in most parts of the country.
