Cultivar Notes -

Tojen

One of the earliest to bloom, this selection begins producing its orchid-like flowers in late summer, continuing on into early fall. They are quite showy, having spot-free, lavender-edged petals with white centers.

Wonderfully arching stems support the relatively large, lance-shaped, green leaves which are arranged in a ladder-like fashion.

Tricyrtis

Toad-lilies are exotic-looking and rewarding plants for late-season display in the shady garden. Native to the Himalayas to eastern Asia, they grow naturally at the edge of forests, preferring shade and rich, moist soil, hardy enough to handle the sudden changes of winter.

Excellent woodland or shade garden plants. Plants form clumps of tall, gracefully arching, stems with terminal and axillary orchid-like flowers. Perfect for late summer bloom.

Plant Tricyrtis near the front of the border or along pathways where its unique flowers can be viewed at close range.
