ATTRIBUTES
Cultivar Notes -
Raspberry Wine
Buds that resemble raspberries open to reveal the wine red flowers of this selection. They appear atop the stocky, square stems from midsummer to fall. This variety out-blooms most other monardas.
Genus Notes -
Monarda
Bees love Bee Balm, it’s true, but so do hummingbirds. In the moist soil they prefer, plants spread quickly by underground stems to form thickets of tall square stems, lined with fragrant foliage and topped with colorful mid- to late-summer blooms. Monarda has mint-scented foliage and unusual colorful flowers that are surrounded by equally colorful bracts. Deadhead for rebloom.
