Cultivar Notes - 'Hadspen Cream'
Light green leaves with wide, irregular, creamy yellow margins characterizes this variety of Brunnera. Though somewhat hard to find in garden centers, this plant is worth searching for. It is strikingly beautiful, especially when planted en masse.
Genus Notes - Brunnera
Brunneras are classic perennials that are treasured for their shade tolerance and lovely blooms. They make a fantastic groundcover, though the variegated forms may be slower to spread than the species. Try growing them in containers too so they will be close at hand when you want to snip a few blooms for a spring bouquet.
Beautiful woodland plant, preferring moist soils and plenty of humus. If the soil becomes too dry, the foliage easily crinkles and dies. Attractive forget-me-not type flowers bloom late spring into early summer. Use only in areas where adequate moisture is supplied.
