Cultivar Notes - 'Eldorado'
A new and rare gold variegated form of the very popular Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster'. The narrow, green leaves have a bright gold center which radiates out in the sunlight. Attractive tan wheat-like seed heads appear in early summer and last all season.
Series Notes - Cool Season Grasses
Cool season grasses are at their prime during the cooler months of fall, winter, and spring, and usually bloom before the warmer summer weather arrives. Many are evergreen. They will put on the most growth during these cooler months. Cool season grasses include: Calamagrostis acutiflora, Festuca, Helictotrichon, and Stipa.
Genus Notes - Calamagrostis
The genus Calamagrostis includes some of the showiest of ornamental Grasses. All species prefer rich, moist soil and tolerate heavy clay. They struggle in dry soil.
