Cultivar Notes - 'Dark Eyes'
Large rosettes of rugose, silver leaves give way to a bouquet of short, broad flowering stems which nicely display the peach and gold flowers with a dark red eye. If sited properly and deadheaded, it will bloom most of the summer.
Genus Notes - Verbascum
Most gardeners know Mullein as a towering roadside weed, but there are many good garden plants in the group. They offer dense spikes of cupped blooms, generally in late spring and early summer. Well-drained soil and sun are the keys to success.
