Cultivar Notes - 'Myrtle'
Attractive lavender blue flowers are set off by dark green foliage. Toughness and an ability to grow anywhere has made Vinca one of the most populare groundcovers.
Species Notes - Vinca minor
Vigorous and pretty, common periwinkle is a popular, low-growing evergreen groundcover for shade that originates from Europe and Russia. It is one of the best groundcovers for shade, though it will also tolerate sun if provided ample moisture. It serves well as a cover beneath trees or along shaded banks.
Genus Notes - Vinca
Vinca is a very fast growing, trailing vine that blooms with delicate, trumpet-like flowers. Will not climb surfaces, and makes a wonderful groundcover.
