Cultivar Notes -
Amina
Rich, deep orange flowers with yellow throats and dark red whiskers cover this dwarf alstroemeria from mid summer through the cooling days of fall. Envision her brightening a lightly shaded entryway and later, with pumpkins and colorful guards nearby, creating an outdoor still life. Then bring Amina indoors for more color on the window sill. A newer cultivar, this is one that’s been popular and hard to access.
Genus Notes -
Alstroemeria
In recent years, alstromeria has become one of the most popular cut flowers with florists and purchasers alike. They last for a long time in a vase and combine easily with other types of flowers. Alstroemeria species are native to South America, particularly Chile and Brazil.
