Cultivar Notes -
4 Luck® Red Green
This selection of the common creeping clover makes a handsome edging or groundcover plant. It was named for the number of four-leaved clovers usually found but there also may be three leaves. Leaves are two toned, dark green with splashes of red and dark burgundy. A very nice filler plant in tubs or mixed containers. Because of its vigorous habit, do not plant next to slow-growing alpine plants that might get smothered. Trim back hard in midsummer to rejuvenate the foliage, if plants begin to look scruffy. Easily divided in spring or fall. May be used as a lawn substitute and mowed at any time to the desired height.
Series Notes -
4 Luck®
4 Luck Trifolium is an excellent component plant for containers with a great amount of diversity in colors. It grows low and spreads, then with maturity cascades over the edge of containers and baskets. Garden height is 4 in. with a spread of 10 to 14 in. 4 Luck Trifolium will create unique and beautiful spring/summer containers showcasing bright-colored leaves of red, burgundy, white and chartreuse that’s durable in wet or dry regions. 4 Luck can also be used for fall/winter mixed planters containing pansies, violas, snapdragons and other cold-tolerant plants.

Genus Notes -
Trifolium
The term “trifolium” is derived from the Latin word “tres” or three and “folium,” meaning leaf. Trifolium is also known as White Clover. Newer genetics like the "4 Luck" Series have the propensity to develop four leaves per stem versus the usual three. Trifolium are fast spreading, very low growing plants with decorative foliage.
