Cultivar Notes -
Calliope® Medium Dark Red
With an outstanding deep red velvety flower color and great branching habit, Calliope® Medium Dark Red was unmatched in the AAS Trials when compared to other market varieties. Calliope® Medium Dark Red geranium is an interspecific hybrid with zonal-type flowers and leaves. This AAS Winner has a mounded, semi-spreading growth habit with strong stems supporting the flower heads that are loaded with deep red blossoms. These plants work great in containers, combination plantings, hanging baskets as well as in an in-ground landscape. Gardeners will enjoy exceptional landscape performance in normal conditions as well as in more challenging high heat and drought conditions.
Series Notes -
Calliope® Medium
Calliope® geraniums takes color to a whole new level in geraniums with stunning, vibrant color all season long. They also have outstanding mounding habit. Calliope is a breakthrough interspecific cross that combines the best characteristics of ivy and zonal geraniums. Because of its excellent branching characteristics, heat tolerance and vigor, Calliope maintains a mounding habit and incredible flower power in the garden - even under extremely hot conditions. In addition, it does not become overgrown by other plants in mixed containers.

Calliope Medium’s wide range of colors, including unique novelties, are a one-stop option for building the ideal geranium program.

Genus Notes -
Pelargonium
Confusingly known as geraniums, pelargoniums are in the same plant family as hardy geraniums, but fall into a different genus and bear no resemblance to them at all. They are normally grown as annual bedding plants although they can be overwintered indoors, and are prized for their bright summer flowers and attractive, often fragrant, foliage.

Pelargoniums come in a variety of forms, and most belong to one of the following six horticultural groups: Angel, Ivy-leaved, Regal, Scented-leaved, Unique and Zonal. All thrive in full sun and do best when grown in a sheltered, sunny spot.
