Tips for Efficient Printing
Before proceeding:
  • To print more columns on a single page, print the report in Landscape mode. To do this, change your printer's 'Orientation' to Landscape in your browser's Printer Settings dialog box.
  • Hide unneeded columns (to reduce print output width) by unchecking column names in the 'View Preferences' box at the bottom of this screen. If this screen is currently in the 'Plant Images Only' view, you must first click the 'Display In List Format' checkbox before you can hide the columns you do not want to print. Your print output will match whatever you are viewing here.

Fountain Grass (Miniature)Pennisetum alopecuroides
1. Piglet
Click to display
'Piglet' was discovered and introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens. It is perhaps the most perfectly sized compact fountain grass. Its height falls right between 'Little Bunny' and 'Hameln'. This new dwarf fountain grass tops out at around 18 inches tall. Great as an edger or in a container. Tawny-colored, cascading plumes in late summer. 'Piglet' is cute, floriferous, and easy to grow. Moist well-drained soil.

3. Little Redhead
Click to display
‘Little Redhead’ is a superior selection of the species, vegetatively propagated to ensure uniformity. Dark red tubular flowers with yellow interiors are produced above top of an upright clump of dark green, wedge-shaped leaves. Everyone who has seen this variety has loved it. This genus requires good drainage to thrive, so do not plant in areas with standing water.

4. Ragin Cajun
Click to display
Compared to ‘Little Redhead’ which is a deep red, ‘Ragin Cajun’ has orange red flowers, has more of a rounded habit, and is more floriferous. Attracts pollinators like hummingbirds and is a native woodland perennial, although it grows well in both sun and shade. From Tony Avent from Plant Delights Nursery.

6. Peppermint Patty
Click to display
A very unique look for Bergenia. White flowers have a pink throat with color radiating down each petal. The petals are then edged with a matching thin pink picotee margin. Individual flowers are above average in size at 1¼" wide. By the flowers, stems are bright rose pink before transitioning to green near the base. Wavy, serrated leaves are extra thick with prickly toothed edges.

7. Rotblum (aka Red Beauty)

Large, thick, leathery leaves are evergreen and provide strong contrast in the garden. Red flower clusters are borne on thick stalks. Easy to grow and makes a wonderful ground cover or specimen.

8. Vintage™ Blush
Click to display
Harkens back to older types of Bergenia that have survived in gardens for a century without care. Has medium sized, paddle shaped foliage in a rich pine-green color that deepens with cold weather. The spring bloom is amazing; great numbers of flowering stems that are branched with several layers of flowers that are long lasting. 'Blush' features a cascading style of flower truss; upright with flowers held like an orchid. Lovely blush pink flowers have a deep rose colored eye. An easy and sturdy landscape plant.

9. Vintage™ Rose
Click to display
A very solid plant. Large clusters of bright rose flowers are held just above the lovely small, green foliage. Excellent scale in every aspect. The ratio of flowers to foliage is great, as is the complimenting flower and foliage color. The rich, moss green foliage deeps in the winter and adds a beautiful burgundy halo around the edges of the foliage. Another rock hardy, easy to grow garden subject.
