This remarkable tree peony features bold, lightly-scented, pink to pale-lavender, cup-shaped, 6-inch blossoms with powder-blue overtones, butter-yellow stamen, and hot-pink petal flares from mid to late-spring. The flowers are excellent for cutting.

'Blue Sapphire' will grow to be about 6 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 6 feet. It has a low spreading canopy. It grows at a slow rate maturing in 15 to 20 years.

2. Burning Colors of Evening (aka Ni Hong Huan Cai)

Named for the brilliant neon-like flower color that changes greatly as the blossom matures. Semi-double thousand petal form with one 6" bloom per stem. Vibrant-pink with purplish undertones,and the base of the petals is white. Inner petals become mostly white with pink flares extending about 20% of the petal length with petal edges variably pink.

First bloomed in 2018, and first year propagated in 2019. Mid- to late-season blooming.

The huge blooms of ‘Yellow Crown’ tree peony are a sophisticated, rich buttery-yellow with a lightly-fragrant nose which pairs beautifully with other spring and early-summer garden plantings. Deep within the center of the flowers lives an orange heart encircling the central boss of golden-stamens helping to make this one of the most vibrant and saturated yellow-colored tree peonies. Pollinators love this peony.

The huge 10”, fully double soft pink blooms of Tree Peony 'Rosy Jade' make a spectacular sight in spring. The blooms have a lightly-fragrant nose. A mature plant can boast in excess of a hundred exotic blooms. Pollinators love this peony.

5. Royal Elegance (aka Shima-Nishiki or Dao Jin)

This unusually colored tree peony exhibits very large, bi-colored, red flowers marbled with white and pink in late-spring. The blossoms have a nice light fragrance and appear on erect stems above deep-green foliage with an interesting deeply-divided texture. 'Shima-Nishiki' and is an ideal choice for any gardener who is looking for something a bit different. The gigantic 10-inch, semi-double flowers have a magical appearance with their flamboyant coloring of raspberry-red and pale-pink to white marbling held high on relatively low shrubs up to 4-feet tall and wide.

'Snowy Pagoda' is an upright, bushy, deciduous shrub with deeply-lobed, dark-green leaves divided into elliptic or ovate leaflets and large, lightly-fragrant, fully-double, pink-flushed white flowers in late-spring and early-summer. The Shandong region of China, where these orignated from, has been cultivating 'Mudan' (peonies) for over three thousand years!

7. Sunset (aka Luo Yang Hong)

Tree Peony ‘Luoyang Hong’ is named after the Chinese city of Luoyang in Henan province, where peonies have been cultivated for over a millennium. Its magenta flowers are semi-double, measuring a generous 8-10” across. Tree peonies often need to settle in one to two years before producing flowers and, once established, grow to a mature size of 5 feet in 5-8 years. Plant in sun to part shade with the graft union well below the soil surface and protect from strong winds and afternoon sun. Deer resistant.
