Tips for Efficient Printing
Before proceeding:
  • To print more columns on a single page, print the report in Landscape mode. To do this, change your printer's 'Orientation' to Landscape in your browser's Printer Settings dialog box.
  • Hide unneeded columns (to reduce print output width) by unchecking column names in the 'View Preferences' box at the bottom of this screen. If this screen is currently in the 'Plant Images Only' view, you must first click the 'Display In List Format' checkbox before you can hide the columns you do not want to print. Your print output will match whatever you are viewing here.

WeigelaWeigela florida
1. Bubbly Wine™ (‘FLORACLAR’)
Click to display
A brightly colored, variegated selection of Fine Wine® weigela with sparkling hues of yellow, green, and burgundy on a compact, mounded shrub. Like all variegated plants the occasional reversion will appear, but all in all, this plant has been quite stable. Discovered by the plantsman Jeff Good of Southeast Michigan.

2. Czechmark Trilogy® (‘VUKOZGemini’)
Click to display
Czechmark Trilogy™ is an improved version of the ever-popular ‘Carnaval.’ Flowers start out white and soon transition to pink, then finally red. This results in an eye-popping combination of three colors at once on the same plant.
SC-7PWCC #3 Pot 36"-41"41"-5'6"4-8

3. Midnight Wine Shine™ (‘SMNWFMS’)
Click to display
Everything you love about Midnight Wine®, but with more va-voom than ever! It has darker, shinier leaves which make a huge impact in the landscape from spring to fall. And as for autumn, you'll be relieved to hear that it has had displayed much better hardiness when it comes to tip die-back.

This is an improved selection with darker, extremely glossy foliage. Its parentage comes from the Canadian variety ‘Tango’, so it has excellent hardiness and is less prone to tip dieback. While its flowers are a bit better than Midnight Wine, the plant is grown for its attractive foliage and habit making it a great replacement for Berberis in places where it's banned.

4. My Monet Purple Effect (‘Verweig8’)
Click to display
Hues of cream, green, and pink, layered with a cast of purple make My Monet Purple Effect™ weigela a noteworthy selection. From renowned plantsman Bert VerHoef, it shares the same dwarf habit and neat, variegated foliage of the original My Monet® weigela but is exceptionally strong flowering. It is a bit faster growing and has proven more heat tolerant in our trials. The foliage looks good right up until frost, giving new energy to this long-time favorite.

5. Snippet® Dark Pink (‘VUKOZLyra’)
Click to display
Snippet® Dark Pink weigela is a hardy dwarf selection from the Czech Republic with richer, dark pink flower color than ‘Pink Poppet’ or ‘Minuet’. It reblooms quite nicely and can be cycle-pruned to deliver a flowering crop to retail through the garden season.

6. Spilled Wine® (‘Bokraspiwi’)
Click to display
The new look purple leaved weigela! Spilled Wine has dark red, wavy leaves and a spreading habit. Its hot pink-magenta flowers are similar to those of Wine & Roses, but this is a smaller plant that is wider than it is tall. This is a wonderful plant for adding lots of color in mass plantings, or tucked into an existing border.

7. Vinho Verde™ (‘SMNWFBGV’)
Click to display
There’s nothing else quite like Vinho Verde™ weigela! After years of positive feedback from trial garden visitors during its evaluation, Spring Meadow Nurseries is pleased to offer this unique selection, characterized by lime green leaves set off with a bold, black margin. Discovered as a variegated sport on a seedling whose parents were golden ‘Briant’s Rubidor’ and burgundy ‘Naomi Campbell’. Like all variegated plants, it will occasionally revert, but it reverts to all black, so will not overgrow the plant. A light crop of red-pink flowers appear in late spring, but the foliage - coupled with an irresistibly neat habit - are the primary reasons to grow this beauty.

Wondering about that name and the unusual spelling? Vinho Verde is a special wine from Portugal that's crisp and refreshing, much like the effect Vinho Verde weigela has in the landscape.

8. Wine & Roses® (‘Alexandra’)
Click to display

9. Wine & Spirits™ (‘SMNWFGC’)

Hues of cream, green, and pink, layered with a cast of purple make My Monet Purple Effect™ weigela a noteworthy selection. 10. Sonic Bloom® Pink (‘Bokrasopin’)
Click to display

SC-8PWCC #3 Pot 48"-5'5'-6'4-8

11. Sonic Bloom® Red (‘Verweig 6’)
Click to display
The lipstick red flowers are remarkable enough to make this a choice selection, but a burst of flowers in May followed by waves of rebloom until frost make it a must-have shrub. Deadheading is not needed to keep the plant blooming.
