The Yellow Trumpetbush is a broadleaf evergreen shrub or small tree that has clusters of bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers. The showy flowers bloom from spring until frost. In warmer climates, they may bloom all year long. In the United States, the shrub is typically 3-6 feet tall but can grow up to 10-25 feet tall and 10-20 feet wide. Reportedly, the wood from the shrub was used by the Native Americans for bowmaking.

Bold and beautiful, Kimberly Queen fern is easy to grow. The dark green fronds are perfect for adding tropical texture to shaded decks, patios, and other outdoor living areas. It's particularly striking in large containers as a specimen plant, but also plays well with other shade-loving tropicals including gingers, heliconias, and caladiums. Nephrolepis exaltata ‘Fluffy Ruffles’ is a variety of Boston fern with light ruffled fronds and a compact growth habit. This cultivar does not produce spores, and reproduced through rhizomes that spread through soil. Like most ferns, ‘Fluffy Ruffles’ will do best with extra humidity and out of direct sunlight.

Its attractive deep green foliage and compact lines make it obvious why ‘Montana’ is so popular with consumers. Although this cultivar grows 30% more slowly than our common Boston varieties, its growth habit is very uniform. In addition it is a strong plant that will look good indoors all year round. It will stay green and retain its foliage with normal care.

The relatively new cultivar ‘Nevada®’ is a serious contender for ‘True Boston's’ place at the top, especially when planted in larger pots. It scores slightly higher on a number of points. For example, for its extremely rapid growth habit, uniformity and the sturdiness of its erect fronds, as well as for its overall strength and hardiness. Although not fully hardy ‘Nevada®’ will thrive on the patio. A top product by any standard, its quality underlined by the lovely, dark green color.

The Ficus benjamina is one of the most popular houseplants in the world. Known as the weeping fig, the F. benjamina is native to India and Southeast Asia, where its an important fruit and landscape plant.

Ficus benjamina are wonderful and incredibly rewarding plants to grow indoors. They make beautiful corner plants and large indoor "trees" for entryways and foyers. Although it is a little more challenging, it is possible to overwinter F. benjamina in temperate areas without massive leaf-dropping, but it will require careful attention to watering and temperature. In general, make sure to aggressively fertilizer your ficus plant, especially during the growing season. They have a fairly high need for fertilizer. Also make sure to prune away dead branches and pick dead leaves to prevent the spread of diseases or fungal infections that can severely affect your plant. If your plant is dropping leaves despite all these steps, and you're giving it nice bright light, try supplementing with a little magnesium and manganese. Ficus benjamina are vulnerable to pests including aphids, mealy bugs, scale, and white fly. If possible, identify the infestation as early as possible and treat with the least toxic option.

If you like the color purple, Tibouchina is one plant you'll certainly want to add to your garden. The most significant element of all Tibouchina plants, also known as Princess Flower or Glory Bush, is the strange shape of the stamens on it's soft, purple flowers. Each stamen extends out and then develops a scimitar-like structure that is used as a “landing pad” for insects that collect the pollen on their feet. This dwarf form grows to only 24 to 30 inches tall. Prefers some shade during the hottest part of the day.

This species forms small to large clumps of numerous, small plants made up of short, leafy stems. Its leaves are customarily dark green, more or less deltoid, and the upper surfaces are noticeably traversed by a network of lighter lines.

Aptenia Variegata is a mat-forming succulent with smooth, green and cream variegated leaves and bright pink to purplish flowers. The leaves are heart-shaped and up to 1" long. Flowers appear in summer and fall.

It has a nice round shape and remains compact to a height of about 6". Leaves are up to 2" long and 3/4" wide. They become more red-colored in stronger light. This plant does not flower.
