In the Pink a garden to charm all summer long |
| |
|
Single-color gardens have always been popular and are fairly easy to achieve within any color range. This garden features flowers ranging from light pink to dark pink, and rose pink to purplish pink and even lavender. Along with red, pink is also attractive to hummingbirds so you'll be sure to attract any that may be in the area. And the Buddleias will ensure the presence of butterflies. Several flowers in this garden, such as the Scabiosa 'Pink Mist', are well-suited for use in indoor arrangements. With this garden, you will have a profusion of pink from the time the Geraniums bloom in spring until the Japanese Anemones and Asters conclude the main color of the garden in the fall.

| helpful hints |
- Plant pink-flowering, fragrant hummingbird shrubs such as Lilacs, Weigela, and Rhododendrons to add winter interest.
- Hand-collect the seeds of the Foxglove for planting into next year's garden. Plant the Digitalis in partial shade and keep it well watered.
- Add Groundcover Roses, such as Carefree Delight, to add more dimension and texture to your pastel landscape.
