Cultivar Notes - 'Ruby Wedding'
'Ruby Wedding' has stunning ruby-red flowers with a suggestion of white at the base of each petal held on wiry, branched stems above lobed, mid-green leaves. This old cottage garden favorite has been enjoying a resurgence of interest in recent years.
Genus Notes - Astrantia
Wonderful woodland plant preferring moist, shady areas rich in organic matter. Excellent for the shady perennial border or for naturalizing along a stream. Plants bloom early- to late-summer on tall stems with rounded buttonhead flowers cupped with colorful star-shaped bracts. Astrantia are excellent cut flowers.
