ATTRIBUTES Cultivar Notes - Curry Plant This plant is called Curry plant because of the strong smell of its leaves. The plant produces an oil from its blossoms which is used for medicinal purposes. It is anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, and astringent. It soothes burns and raw chapped skin. It is used as a fixative in perfumes and has an intense fragrance. This plant is sometimes used as a spice; however, it has nothing whatsoever to do with curry powder and is not used for curry in dishes. Genus Notes - Helichrysum Exceptionally easy to grow, indispensable varieties for containers, baskets and the border. Grow in well-drained soil, and avoid over-watering and over-fertilizing. |
