ATTRIBUTES
Cultivar Notes -
Astra™ Semi-Double Blue
This selection forms a compact mound of green foliage, bearing inflated buds that open into star-shaped semi-double violet-blue blossoms. The small habit of this variety makes it a good choice for rock gardens and mixed containers.
Series Notes -
Astra™
Astra produces long-lasting, star-shaped blooms available as semi-double or single flowers measuring 2-3 inches in diameter. Continuous balloon-shaped buds mean Astra has an exceptionally long shelf life, providing continuous flowering throughout the season. Astra’s heat tolerance makes production possible during the course of the summer without problems.
Genus Notes -
Platycodon
Balloon Flowers get their name from their flower buds, which inflate like balloons before splitting into large, bell-shaped blooms. Flowering begins in midsummer, with occassional repeat bloom until fall. Plants are hardy, adaptable and easy to grow. Plant in well-drained soil.
